Bad choices, drugs, emotional issues, physical abuse, broken homes...many terrible reasons can lead women, and even very young girls, to the depths of despair and into the horror of prostitution. Turning the Tables, is located in a seedy part of Jaffa. Teaching an alternative skill, offering counseling, in a safe secure environment, the women have a different choice for their lives.

Saving Lives – one girl at a time
Ginat Eden (Garden of Eden) is a unique rehabilitation farm for teenage girls at risk in Israel's Jordan Valley. Founded by two young, dynamic educators, Rabbi Nir Efrati and his wife Nava, Ginat Eden helps the young women back from the extreme fringes of society and life towards a brighter future. Small, efficient, effective, Ginat Eden focuses on healing psychological wounds, building self-esteem, preparatory for independence through therapeutic benefits ranging from academic and Torah studies, agricultural work, physical fitness, to self-defense training.

RE-SPECS'aims are to tap into this worldwide resource and collect pre-loved glasses and overstocks, redistributing them to people who most need them, society's underprivileged.

Darkai Zion - the Roads of Zion provides food, clothing, eye care, shoes and love to the people of Bet Shean. No one is paid for their work. It is all volunteer driven and supported by donations.

Jack the Bike Man Located in West Palm Beach, Fl., "Jack" Hairston created an unusual non-profit. He "sells" used bikes. He rehabilitates bikes and children. Actually, Jack donates most everything. Profits and donations provide after school support, mentoring, language skills, responsibility, family values, trust and self esteem with the local very poor and migrant community. Jack has a very special concern for the Guatemalan community. They helped him when he badly needed help, much as Guatemala helped Israel when she desperately needed friends as she struggled for life in 1948 and afterwards.
Poverty and need knows no borders. To Save A Life, in coordination with the Jewish American Society for Historic Preservation, www.JASHP.org, donated to the McRoberts and surrounding school communities, 2,500 books to improve the learning opportunities for the young people.
The Israel Free Loan Association, founded by Dr. Eliezer Jaffe, the father of efficient, direct giving in Israel, is uniquely suited to help people in the highest manner of Maimonides code of giving. Providing free "loans", the money is used, repaid and then reloaned again to multiply the positive effects to help Israelis regain their footing and control over their own lives. A free loan is not a hand out but a hand up.
Economic Empowerment for Women
Not a handout but an opportunity to stand on their own feet for themselves and their families; EEW provides microloans to low income women who wish to rise from poverty to possibility. EEW assists women to create "A Business of Their Own" through appropiate business training, financing and ongoing consultation. EEW improves the lives of Israeli Jews and Arabs, one woman at a time.
Yad Eliezer, is an apolitical, grass roots movement that has grown to help the desperate needs of many throughout Israel faced with poverty. As simple as a food bank and as complicated as helping with basic human survival, clothing, furniture, shoes, big brothers, financial assistance, etc., Yad Eliezer struggles to reach all in need.
